“Offerta”, the name chosen by Sottsass himself, aims to underline the gift dimension contained in the objects and at the same time refers, with a good dose of irony, to the idea of ​​a design deliberately far from the glamor of special occasions. The significant thicknesses and the architectural proportions designed on simple geometries, traits that Ettore Sottsass prefers in his own language, make the objects of the "Offerta" collection new archetypes of the contemporary table dedicated to those who love the quiet normality of simple things, which work well and great quality, which the highest level design can interpret.

“Offerta” is the tableware collection designed by Ettore Sottsass and is the basis of “The wise kitchen and the happy table”, a project begun in 2004 which explores the quiet pleasure of personal objects with which to place bread, a sweet freshly prepared, the wine, a few delicious dates. A collection of 6 pieces consisting of a centrepiece, a cake stand and four baskets of different sizes and uses which, in continuity with the program launched with Sottsass Associati, re-proposes steel as the protagonist material of the domestic landscape.

“Offerta” continues the research that Sottsass conducted with Serafino Zani on the rediscovery of the forms of everyday tradition according to current languages, starting from a concrete and long-lasting material such as steel. A steel that in “Offerta” becomes precious in the unusual combination with the glass of the “Tuareg” cake stand and in the polished and burnished one of “Offerta Frutta”.
