«Glass is a crazy material, very mysterious, transparent, fragile. Behind the glass there is, needless to say, a universe of centuries-old experiences. On the occasion of one of the first Triennials, after the war, they asked me to make a glass and I remember that back then we made balls with a tartan design, that is, there were light and dark lines that intertwined. It was my first experience of this activity. Glass, like ceramics, has another strange quality: it enters the fire and you don't know what goes inside. Then suddenly an object emerges that is pure because it is burned by fire, an object of total purity, of total physical intangibility. Like a vision. You are truly involved in this glass process.
