A unique creative process, which captures the absence of color and matter through the liveliness of the bubbles, giving the glass that distinctive and original aesthetic dimension. A symbol of the cocktail world and drinking culture, particularly for "on the rocks" drinks, the Double Old Fashioned tumbler has deep roots in American culture and mixology. In fact, it takes its name from the Old Fashioned, one of the first recognized and codified cocktails in history, dating back to 1806. Based on whiskey, sugar, angostura bitters, and ice, it was originally served in the tumbler of the same name (smaller), but over time, the Double version became common: more space for ice and ingredients. Since then, the cocktail world has evolved, but the Double Old Fashioned tumbler has remained an timeless classic, once a symbol of refinement and virility, now something central to pop culture and the ritual of the aperitif. Americano, Negroni, Negroni Sbagliato, Milano Torino, Gin Tonic, Mojito, and various Spritzes, but also much more... Its wide shape is perfect for adding large ice cubes, keeping the temperature ideal and the flavor unchanged, without watering down the drink too much!
With its roots in tradition, the Memento Originale Double Old Fashioned tumbler adapts perfectly to the most refined contexts and cocktails, but with its colors, it adds that touch of liveliness and style to the cocktail moment! A perfect pairing with a Lime Memento Originale Double Old Fashioned tumbler? A Tommy's Margarita!
TOMMY’S MARGARITA
• Tequila, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, ice, lime slice to garnish.
• This twist on the classic Margarita has a light green color that contrasts pleasantly with a colored glass. It is a simple drink, but with a bold and refreshing taste.
There are numerous cocktails that best lend themselves to being served in a colored glass: Caipirinha, Caipiroska, Old Fashioned, Sazerac, Negroni, Boulevardier, Vieux Carré, Rusty Nail, White Russian, Midori Sour, Purple Rain, Blue Hawaii, Aviation, Rum Punch... but also Rum, Whisky on the rocks... not to mention Virgin Mojito and the whole world of more sophisticated non-alcoholic drinks, there is no limit to the imagination. All these cocktails are perfect for being served in a colorful and eye-catching Double Old Fashioned tumbler, where the reflections and the sturdiness of the glass with the capacity of the tumbler enhance the sensory experience of the drink.
And the Gin Tonic? For Churchill, "It has saved more lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire!"... a colored glass cannot help but add an eye-catching visual element and improve the entire tasting experience! How? Colors can influence the perception of flavor and mood.
The search for the most aromatic and particular Gin, with the perfect mix of botanicals, the right tonic water to enhance its aroma, the perfect garnish... pepper, cucumber, berries, citrus, or cardamom... a true aficionado cannot afford to get the choice of glass wrong.
So, make room for garnishes that enhance the color and colors that enhance the Gin! A blue glass, for example, can give a sense of freshness and refinement. The contrast between the blue of the glass and the transparency of the Gin Tonic, with the bubbles reflecting the light, creates a refreshing visual effect, particularly suitable for a summer evening. Perfect for a classic Gin, with the blue highlighting the bright green of a lime slice. A Green glass evokes freshness. Cucumber and other garnishes are natural elements that harmonize visually with this glass. Offer a natural and sophisticated contrast: pink grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary. Red fruits or Pomegranate can be used instead for contrast, or to garnish a red or orange glass, for a vibrant and eye-catching look, ideal for winter parties.
A colored Double Old Fashioned tumbler can enhance the appearance of many cocktails, especially those with vibrant colors and liquid layers. By choosing brightly colored cocktails, you can really make the most of the visual effect of the glass.
“We can thus abandon ourselves, almost a little helpless, and let ourselves be enveloped by the strength of color; have confirmation that, in our work, doing beautiful things and doing them well, even before being an entrepreneurial choice or a market strategy, is a personal necessity and a pleasure.” Roberto Zani
A Memento Originale Double Old Fashioned tumbler is a way to enhance the very aesthetics of the drink, even of the most iconic and appreciated ones.
Care, use, and safety
- Wash the product before first use and check that it is intact.
- It is dishwasher safe. Place it stably, leaving space between pieces to avoid contact and collisions during the cycle; choose a delicate program suitable for glass and a non-abrasive detergent.
- By hand, use lukewarm water, neutral detergent, and a soft sponge. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth, without forcing the rim or twisting the stem of the glasses.
- Avoid thermal shock: do not pour very hot liquids into cold glass and do not abruptly cool a hot object. For cups and mugs, bring the glass to temperature gradually.
- Do not use in a traditional oven, microwave, or on flames and hot plates. The product is intended for serving, not for cooking or heating food.
- Avoid impacts, drops, utensils that may strike the rim, scouring pads, and abrasive products. Do not forcibly stack shapes not designed to be stackable.
- Do not use pieces with cracks, chips, or damaged edges. This damage is not covered by the normal aesthetic variations of artisanal glass.
- In case of breakage, collect the fragments with protective gloves and clean thoroughly. Follow your local municipality's rules for disposing of glass and packaging.
