Lake water
Limited edition single-flower vase. This vase belongs to a numbered series (49 pieces + 3 PA) of six designed by Ettore Sottsas. Perhaps the most architectural of the entire series”.
With its offset walls it stands strong like a pillar, its faces expanding to the side to seek further anchorage in the ground.
It is a sculpture that, rich in shadows and bright glimpses, gives us a view of unexpected beauty.
«ETTORE SOTTSASS ALWAYS SAYS THAT FOR HIM ARCHITECTURES ARE NOT JUST FOR CIRCUMCRIBING A SPACE: THEY CONTINUE "OUTSIDE". THEY TOUCH THE EXTERNAL SPACE, THEY PERMEATE IT. HE ALSO SAYS THAT THE ARCHITECTURE OF THINGS, ITS CONSTRUCTIVE STRUCTURE, MUST BE SOMETHING UNEQUIVOCABLE. AND IT IS PRECISELY THIS UNEQUIVOCABLENESS OF ARCHITECTURE THAT ALLOWS MATTER TO SPEAK. IT ALLOWS IT TO BECOME MAGIC, CONSOLATION, PLEASURE».
Roberto ZaniJust for flowers are six small single-flower vases, each produced in a limited series of 49 pieces, designed by Ettore Sottsass for the Metallia project by Serafino Zani. Each piece bears the designer's signature on the bottom and is accompanied by a certificate of uniqueness and authenticity. Six small pewter architectures: fragments of walls arranged to delimit hollow volumes, small wavy walls and slender cylinders that support each other with unstable balances, causing repeated plays of light and shadow.
Basic volumes, intentionally incomplete, which give this ancient material new chromatic accents, restoring contemporaneity and emotion. Because contemporary pewter continues to tell new stories in everyday life.
The six vases in the collection were made in a number of 49 examples for each piece, signed by the author and accompanied by a certificate attesting their authenticity.
